Aches and pains are one of the worst parts of getting older.
Maybe your back hurts from going a little overboard on that yardwork… or your knees ache from taking that neighborhood walk with your spouse.
And usually the quick ‘fix’ is to take an over-the-counter (OTC) pain medication like ibuprofen to dull the pain.
But if you’re quick to grab that bottle of ibuprofen for those stubborn aches and pains… here’s why you need to stop NOW!
You see, ibuprofen has long been linked to serious health problems like heart issues, increased risk of stroke, and even liver problems…
And now new research has discovered that this popular OTC painkiller may have more significant effects on the liver than previously thought!
Researchers from the University of California Davis found that a daily dosage of 400mg ibuprofen can cause many more protein expression changes in the liver than previously known.
For instance, ibuprofen can lead to the production of reactive oxygen and hydrogen peroxide inside cells. Hydrogen peroxide damages proteins and stresses important liver cells.
And it’s important to keep your liver healthy and as stress-free as possible.
You see, the liver processes virtually everything you eat, drink, breathe in or rub on your skin. In fact, the liver performs over 500 functions that are vital to life. Every day, your liver helps your body by providing it with energy, fighting off infections and toxins, helping clot the blood, regulating hormones and much, much more.

I like using ginger in my daily diet by adding raw ginger to smoothies or teas. You can also use ginger supplements, which are available in health stores and online.
This popular spice has many pain-relieving qualities.
One study found that curcumin (the active ingredient in turmeric) is as effective as ibuprofen for pain management in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis when taken for four weeks.
Turmeric is also a common herbal remedy for reducing inflammation. Try adding it to curries, smoothies, or juices. And like ginger, turmeric supplements are also available in health stores and online.
