According to researchers at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, drinking a few cups of coffee each day was associated with longer survival and a lower risk of cancer progression in patients with colorectal cancer.
But how much is ‘a few’ cups of joe?
According to the study, folks who drank two to three cups of coffee a day were likely to live longer overall AND had a longer time before their disease worsened than those who didn’t drink coffee.
And there was an even greater benefit for java heads that drank MORE than four cups a day!
But don’t worry… even if caffeine gives you the jitters, the colon cancer-blasted benefits were also found in DECAF coffee, too.
And coffee doesn’t just protect you from colon cancer.
The health benefits of drinking coffee are well-documented… but sometimes forgotten.
For instance, coffee can also protect you against type 2 diabetes. A 2017 study concluded that people who drank four to six cups of either caffeinated or decaffeinated coffee each day lowered their risk of type 2 diabetes.
