[RECALL ALERT] Top Sunscreen Laced with Cancer Agent?!
Dear Turapür Today Reader,
Summer is officially in full swing.
And that means you’ve probably already broken out your sunscreen.
After all, applying sunscreen to your face, neck, back, and arms is one of the best ways to keep your skin healthy, smooth, and protected against skin cancer.
But for readers of Turapür Today, you’ve known for some time that — when it comes to protecting your skin – not all sunscreens are created equal.
That’s because many sunscreens you find on the shelves of your local pharmacy or big box store are LOADED with harmful chemicals than can end up causing serious damage to your health.
And just when you thought things couldn’t get any worse… they did.
That’s because one Big Pharma giant just recalled one of the top sunscreens on the market… because it contains traces of a CANCER-CAUSING agent!
Here’s everything you need to know.
Just last week, Johnson & Johnson Consumer Inc. (JJCI) issued a voluntarily recall of all lots of five NEUTROGENA® and AVEENO® brand aerosol sunscreens.
The company indicated that they found the sunscreens contained ‘low levels of benzene’, a known carcinogen.
The five sunscreen products affected by the JJCI recall are the Aveeno brand’s Protect + Refresh, with the other four products Beach Defense, Cool Dry Sport, Invisible Daily and Ultra Sheer produced by its Neutrogena company.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) also released more information about the recall on their website.
Ok, so that’s what we know about the recall.

In the meantime, what should you do if you currently use any of these sunscreens?
The first thing you need to do is not panic!
Even though the recall stated that the sunscreens in question contained ‘low’ levels of benzene, JJCI recommends you should stop using these specific products and appropriately discard them. You can even contact JJCI directly and request a full refund.
The second thing you can do is get yourself a bottle of mineral sunscreen. Mineral sunscreen has fewer ingredients and sits on the skin and prevents UV rays from penetrating the skin.
If you can’t find a mineral sunscreen at your local pharmacy, online retailer Bare Republic makes mineral sunscreen for the face and body and will run you close to $15 per bottle.
