Diabetes: A New Drug DANGER Discovered?!

Dear Turapür Today Reader,

If your doctor has diagnosed you or a loved one with diabetes, chances are they blindly handed out a prescription drug as the ‘solution’ for this disease and sent you on your way.

But some of Big Pharma’s favorite blood sugar drugs come with a boatload of nasty side effects.

I’m talking about everything from skin rashes… to weight gain… even liver issues.

And now there’s ANOTHER new danger with one of their ‘top’ diabetes drugs…

According to a study published in Diabetes Care, metformin – which is one of the most popular diabetes drugs on the market – lowers testosterone in men diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.

This latest news about metformin is on top of a massive recall of the popular diabetes drug for containing high-levels of a CANCER-CAUSING agent!

As a reader of Turapür Today, you know this isn’t the first time I’ve addressed the dangers of metformin.

In case you missed my earlier updates, here’s everything you need to know… including details of the recall that dates back to last fall.

According to a recall published in October 2020 by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), multiple pharmaceutical companies are recalling metformin extended-release tablets.

This is because of their high levels of NDMA, a “probable human carcinogen”. The FDA announced that the recall applies to the following products, which can be identified by their National Drug Code numbers listed below (National Drug Codes can be used to search and identify products online through the FDA).

The tablets are either embossed with 101 or 102 on one side and are plain on the other.

Recently the FDA decided to EXPAND that recall to include the following:

Metformin Hydrochloride Extended-Release Tablets, USP 750mg:

  • 100 counts: 29033-056-01

The FDA also has more information about the recall on their website, including more details about its initial recall back in 2020 (which we’ve listed below): Metformin Hydrochloride Extended-Release Tablets, USP 500mg:

  • 90 counts: 49483-623-09
  • 100 counts: 49483-623-01
  • 500 counts: 49483-623-50
  • 1000 counts: 49483-623-10

Metformin Hydrochloride Extended-Release Tablets, USP 750mg:

  • 100 counts: 49483-624-01

In the meantime, what should you be doing if you’re currently taking metformin to regulate your diabetes?

The first thing you need to do is not panic. Instead, find time to speak with your doctor about your concerns regarding metformin and what it means for your diabetes treatment.

This can be as simple as a phone call, or even a ‘virtual appointment’ – which many doctors are offering right now as an alternative to in-person visits due to COVID-19.
