Tree ‘Delicacy’ SLASHES High Cholesterol?!

These days, it seems like many mainstream docs have an itchy-trigger finger for diagnosing folks with ‘high’ cholesterol.
And once that happens, they are quick to ‘solve’ your high cholesterol with either dangerous and risky prescription drugs… or by telling you to eat nothing but bland, boring foods.
Sound familiar?
Well, as a reader of Turapür Today you already know that controlling your cholesterol doesn’t need come in pill form… and it certainly doesn’t mean you need to sacrifice your taste buds.
And thanks to some new research around a tasty ‘delicacy’ grown on trees, you can dramatically improve your cholesterol levels!
According to a study from the University of Georgia, eating PECANS can significantly improve your cholesterol levels – including lowering your ‘bad’ cholesterol.
That’s right… the same pecans that are grown on trees and make a delicious snack or crunchy topping to some of your favorite dishes.
According to the study, folks that ate pecans over an eight-week period showed great improvements in total cholesterol, triglycerides and low-density lipoprotein (LDL) – aka the ‘bad’ cholesterol.
In fact, the study found that pecan-eaters saw a 9% REDUCTION in their LDL cholesterol – compared to a 5% drop in LDL cholesterol from folks who simply exercised.
Now, if that’s not a reason to start gobbling up pecans, I don’t know what is!
But what makes pecans so special when it comes to helping lower cholesterol?
Pecans pack a wallop of unsaturated fat, along with heart-healthy nutrients like including alpha-linolenic acid, protein, potassium, zinc, vitamin E, magnesium, and folic acid. And all of these have been linked to lower cholesterol.

Remember, like most nuts, pecans are very calorie-dense, so you don’t need to eat a lot of them. A service size of pecans is usually ¼ cup – which is about the size of the palm of your hand.
You always want to stick to raw pecans and avoid pecans that are covered in sugars or syrups (which unfortunately are easy to find in most stores these days).
I love to take raw pecans, and roast them with a little olive oil and Kosher salt. They make a great, on-the-go snack, or can be diced and added to your salad or side dishes like green beans for a little extra ‘crunch’ and Earthy-taste.
