ZAP the Root of Diabetes Pain [Must Read]

And that’s just managing your blood sugar levels.

It doesn’t account for the writhing PAIN millions of Americans with diabetes feel on a daily basis.

I’m talking about discomfort in your fingers, hands, feet, and even your toes that makes the simplest of tasks feel like absolute AGONY.

If you suffer from diabetes and it feels like pain is running through your nerves each and every day… you’re not alone!

It’s called diabetic neuropathy and millions of Americans suffer from it.

“Neuropathy” refers to any condition that damages nerve cells. But diabetic neuropathy is damage of the nerves that’s caused by diabetes.

Scientists believe that the high content of blood sugar in the blood of a person with diabetes damages nerves over time.

There’s good news and bad news when it comes to treatment of diabetic neuropathy.

Let me get the bad news out of the way…

Unfortunately, neuropathy is one of the common effects of diabetes. In fact, it’s estimated that a whopping 60-70 percent of people with diabetes will develop some sort of neuropathy throughout their lives.

But here’s the good news…there’s plenty you can do to improve your symptoms.

While you can’t necessarily reverse the nerve damage from neuropathy, there are ways to help manage the condition… WITHOUT any prescription drugs.

First and foremost, work on lowering your blood sugar through your diet. Managing your blood glucose is important because it can help prevent additional damage to your nerves.

Avoid foods high in excess sugars (like sodas, sweetened drinks and coffees, fruit juices, and processed snacks and candy bars).

Incorporate foods high in fiber into your daily diet (including vegetables). These foods typically help keep blood sugars at a steady state.

Eat foods that contain healthy fats, like those from olive oil and nuts, and choose lean proteins like chicken and turkey.

And supplements can play a role, too. Alpha-lipoic acid and vitamin B12 have both been found in research to help with the pain associated with diabetic neuropathy.

You’ll also need to pay attention to what’s happening outside your body… specifically with your feet and legs.

Diabetic neuropathy can damage nerves in the legs and feet, which can lead to reduced feeling. And if you cut or injure your foot or leg, you may never notice it!

To prevent severe damage to your feet or legs, be sure to:

  • Regularly check your feet for open wounds or sores
  • Clip your toenails
  • Wash your feet with soap and water regularly
  • Avoid walking barefoot
