Weird Oil Boosts Heart Health
Most of us would do just about anything to maintain a healthy heart as we age.

In a recent study, researchers from the University of Eastern Finland split a group of aging participants into four groups. One ate fatty fish four times a week, one ate lean fish four times a week, one took two tablespoons of camelina oil every day and one was a control group.
Before and after the 12-week trial, all participants had their blood cholesterol levels checked.
And as it turns out, the folks getting the camelina oil had significantly improved cholesterol levels.
In fact, they were much better than those in either fish group.
Which is truly amazing when you think about it — fish, especially fatty types, are often touted for their ability to improve cholesterol. But in this case, a simple plant proved to be more effective.
And having balanced cholesterols is the key to maintaining your ticker.
Experts believe that camelina oil is so good for your heart because it contains high levels of alpha-linolenic acid. This plant-based omega-3 fatty acid can help lower inflammation — one of the key drivers behind heart disease.
