According to a study recently published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, taking high doses of the vitamin biotin could mask serious heart issues that may end up being missed on routine medical tests.
Biotin is a popular vitamin with older adults that helps fortify aging skin, hair, and nails.
But it turns out that overdoing it on biotin can cause “false” low readings in a blood test that measures the protein called troponin – which is used to help diagnose heart attacks.
In other words, taking too much biotin could end up fouling-up the readings on critical medical tests that could end up saving your life!
I know that news is jarring – especially if you already taking biotin.

You can also eat foods rich in biotin as an alternative to supplements. Food like eggs, beans, lentils, and sweet potatoes are all biotin-rich options.
Remember, biotin is NOT bad. But taking too much of it could lead to complications.
