Veggie Trick STOPS Colon Cancer

According to a new study from the Francis Crick Institute in London, they can help you fight colon cancer, too.

You see, green vegetables activate a special protein — called aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR) — that reduces gut inflammation and prevents colon cancer. 

For the research, scientists monitored the cancer status of genetically modified mice that were unable activate AhR in their guts.

Some of the mice got a diet with green vegetables and the others didn’t. 

Quickly, the group not getting green veggies developed gut inflammation and bowel cancer. 

But the other group — the ones eating a diet rich in green veggies — were inflammation and colon cancer FREE.

Even better? When the mice who developed cancer were switched to a greens-heavy diet, they developed fewer tumors. 

Experts report that activating AhR is so effective because it repairs damaged bowel cells, which can divide rapidly and cause cancerous tumors.
