The study found that women who spent four hours a day performing “daily life movements” – such as chores, washing dishes, gardening, or shopping – were: 

  • 62% less likely to die from cardiovascular or coronary heart disease 
  • 43% less likely to develop either condition 
  • 30% less likely to suffer a stroke 

A couple things to point out… 

One, nobody has fours each day to devote to ‘chores.’ But the study noted that simply being up-and-around, and tackling some of those items that never seemed to get checked off your to-do list, are good for your overall health. 

Two, while the study did focus on women, men can also benefit from getting out and tackling their “honey-do list.”  

What this all means is that even though you may not have time to devote to traditional forms of physical activity like the gym, a jog, or even a long walk… 

Simply staying active – even if it’s around the house – can help reduce your risk of a significant health issue.
