Tasty Treat Slashes Bone Risk 52%

Having strong bones is key to enjoying your retirement.

And while Big Pharma offers lots of drugs that promise to strengthen your bones, they don’t always work and can come with some nasty side effects, like heart problems and ulcers.

But as it turns out, Irish researchers have just found a risk-free way to get stronger, healthier bones without drugs.

And believe it or not — all you have to do is eat one of your favorite foods.

This bone-strengthening secret is yogurt.

For years this fermented treat has been boosting brain and gut health.

More recently, researchers from Trinity College Dublin and St. James’s Hospital found that yogurt could be the key to keeping healthy bones well into your golden years.

For the study, scientists scanned the medical records of about 5,000 older folks for bone health and nutritional data.

After careful analysis, the researchers uncovered something incredible…

Women who ate the most yogurt had higher bone mineral density and improved bone function. And men with the highest yogurt intakes saw 9.5 percent less bone breakdown.

Even better, the researchers found that for every serving increase of yogurt the risk of developing osteoporosis was lowered by a whopping 39 percent in women and an incredible 52 percent in men.

Experts believe one reason yogurt is so good for you is because it’s loaded with probiotics, which protect your immune system and help you better absorb nutrients (like the vitamins and minerals your bones need).

Just remember that all yogurt isn’t created equal. Always check the labels for any added sugars or potentially dangerous artificial sweeteners, like aspartame.

The less you see on that ingredient label, the healthier the yogurt is probably going to be.
