Especially the potential health risks associated with these drugs designed to help lower cholesterol levels.
Because even if studies report that they are perfectly safe, I’d be remiss if I didn’t point out every possible pro AND con of these drugs.
And that’s what leads me here today…
Because there is a new study blatantly scoffing at one of the biggest risks associated with statins… almost doubling down that they are perfectly safe.
But I’m going to show you (and your doctor) why you should take this latest study with a grain of salt.

According to an international research study out of Poland, many folks stop taking statins because of the potential risk that they could develop an intolerance to the drugs – which can lead to muscle pains and other side effects.
However, this latest study says that an idea of an intolerance to statins is “over-estimated and over-diagnosed.”
Less than 10% of people taking statins actually develop an intolerance to the drugs.
Sure, I’ll admit that the risk of developing an intolerance to statins is relatively low. But it doesn’t mean that it doesn’t exist to the point where it should be dismissed!
And it certainly doesn’t discount the already well-documented risks of statins like liver damage and type 2 diabetes.

In fact, in a large human study, researchers found that regular consumption of cinnamon reduced levels of LDL “bad” cholesterol and increased HDL “good” cholesterol — lowering TOTAL cholesterol levels!
And best of all, incorporating cinnamon into your daily routine to get all of its cholesterol-lowering benefits is very easy.
The most effective dose is typically 1-6 grams, close to 0.5-2 teaspoons of cinnamon per day.
This makes cinnamon a perfect pantry staple that you can easily sprinkle onto breakfast foods like oatmeal… or even in your morning coffee for a little extra kick.
But my go-to favorite for getting cinnamon into my diet is cinnamon-roasted almonds.
These are a healthy, handy snack that can be made in large batches that you can pull from any time. It also incorporates healthy fats, fiber, and protein from the almonds.
