Heart failure and diabetes should not be taken lightly.

In the recent study, researchers from Hiroshima University in Japan tracked the medical records and eating speeds of about 1,100 healthy adults over five years. 

At the end of the study, they found that the slow eaters significantly lowered their risk of developing heart disease and diabetes.  

Even better, they weighed less and had lower blood sugars. 

Just imagine what a lower blood sugar and slimmer waistline could mean for you. 

Experts report that eating slowly works because it helps you feel fuller and keeps your blood sugar from spiking. 

Other studies have shown that you should eat for at least 20 minutes to get all of the health benefits of eating slowly.
