But first, I want you to forget every lie you’ve ever heard about so-called “proper” diets.
See, healthy eating’s not about starving yourself skinny on rabbit food or depriving yourself of the fats we know to aid weight loss, lower triglycerides, and ward off serious health woes.
It’s about going low-carb.
But don’t just take my word for it — after all, the mainstream certainly never has. Check out the facts.
In a just-out study, published in Applied Physiology, Nutrition and Metabolism, researchers put 20 pre-diabetic men and women on carb-restrictive diets for two weeks and provided them with meal-planning instructions for another two.
And while everyone lost an average 5 percent of their body weight, that doesn’t come CLOSE to being the most impressive result…
Because the women saw SIGNIFICANT improvements in arterial flexibility!
Ladies, I know… it doesn’t sound nearly as glamorous as dropping a cool 10 lbs., but it’s actually REALLY important…
Because stiff arteries are a GIANT predictor of serious issues down the line.
I’m talking heart-attack levels of serious.
That’s because the stiffer your blood vessel walls become, the harder your heart has to work to pump blood in and out – so generally, the higher your blood pressure spikes as well. Those mechanisms, in turn, put a strain on the organ and may lead to those serious issues I mentioned: notably heart disease and stroke.
But by eating low-carb, as this study shows, you can start to COUNTERACT the arterial stiffening that occurs due to factors like age and weight.
Plus, while the women were the only ones who saw improved artery flexibility, EVERYONE benefited from triglyceride and blood sugar levels A THIRD lower than when the study began.
It’s almost like eating low-carb is an all-around win…
And there’s no reason you can’t take advantage, too.
Going low-carb is as easy as passing over pasta and bread for nutrient-dense fats and proteins (think chicken, fish, and certain oils) and incorporating a hearty amount of fruits and leafy green vegetables.
Just be careful making assumptions about “healthy” produce, as starchy potatoes and fiber-packed bananas naturally stray into high-carb territory that excludes them from this lifestyle.
