Funny-Looking Root BOOSTS Your Immune System

These days, EVERYBODY is looking to give their immune system an extra boost.

And with problems like the flu season and COVID , who can blame them?

But did you know that an iron-clad immune system goes far beyond just keeping you safe and healthy from viruses like the cold and flu… and even in the age of COVID-19?

It can also protect you against debilitating autoimmune diseases – which are conditions where your immune system mistakenly ATTACKS your body.

Fortunately, there’s a ‘funny-looking’ root that acts like JET FUEL for your immune system and can give you the protection you need to stay healthy not only year-round… but for years to come.

I’m talking about ginger… and it’s one of the healthiest (and most delicious) spices on the planet!

Due to its strong anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects, ginger packs a wallop of immune-boosting properties.

And now lab research has identified ginger as an effective, supplemental treatment option for a number of autoimmune diseases.

In fact, researchers at the University of Michigan point to ginger – specifically an ingredient in ginger called 6-gingerol – as the driving force that combats internal mechanisms responsible for autoimmune diseases… specifically lupus and antiphospholipid syndrome (AS).

Lupus, for example, is known to cause your immune system to attack healthy tissue. Patients with AS also usually develop blood clots as a result. Both conditions can lead to excessive inflammation and even organ damage.

But according to lab discoveries, 6-gingerol (which is the main ingredient in ginger) STOPS the release of something called neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs).

NETs play a big role in the progression of both lupus and AS, as they trigger autoantibody formation and contribute to blood vessel damage and clotting.

In other words, ginger can help keep your immune system from going haywire and prevent NETs from attacking healthy cells.

While more research continues to be done on ginger and autoimmune diseases, this new study is promising as more and more people continue to look for natural ways to stave off autoimmune diseases.

In the meantime, you can easily incorporate ginger into your daily routine to ensure iron-clad immunity.

My go-to is a piping-hot cup of ginger tea.

To make ginger tea at home, simply slice 20-40 g of fresh ginger root and steep in a cup of boiling water for 10 minutes. You can add a slice of lemon or a drop of honey to improve flavor.

If it tastes too strong or spicy, try diluting it with more hot water and honey.

Ginger is extremely versatile, and can be added to your diet in other ways, For example…

  • Chew on a slice of ginger root a few minutes before each meal.
  • Add fresh ginger to a smoothie or juice
  • Add fresh or dried ginger to your homemade salad dressing
  • Add extra flavor and color to your side dishes by sprinkling grated ginger on the top

My preference is fresh ginger… but dried ginger is also effective.
