The study found that folks who ate 10 plums in dried form per day (along with a calcium supplement) had much HIGHER bone density in both their forearm and spine compared to folks who ate dried apples and a calcium supplement.
Many fruits are good for your bones. But unlike other fruits, researchers have found dried plums possess a unique ability to suppress the rate of breakdown of bone… which means less risk of osteoporosis.
Finding dried plums isn’t difficult. Most grocery stores sell them near the produce section with other dried fruits. Just be sure to opt for a variety that is natural and doesn’t contain any added sugars or sweeteners.
And like most dried fruits – even though they are smaller than regular fruit – stick to the serving size listed on the nutrition label.
