For the study, the scientists exposed human tissues to BHT in a lab while recording metabolic changes.
Quickly, they saw that BHT scrambles the hormonal signals between your gut and your brain, specifically those that tell you when you’re full.
This communication breakdown can lead to overeating, serious weight gain and heart and blood sugar problems.
