[Men] Got Brittle Bones? Here’s Why
Guys, I know you probably don’t want to admit it…
But your bones will get weaker as you age –putting you at risk for developing osteoporosis.
And while women do technically have a higher risk of developing osteoporosis than men… it doesn’t mean that you’re immune to this bone disease.
Once osteoporosis digs in, even a small bump or tumble can put you at risk of bone fractures (or even the dreaded hip fracture). And after that happens, you could be completely out-of-commission for weeks or even MONTHS.
Now, you’ve probably been told that the only thing you need to do to protect yourself from osteoporosis is up your calcium intake.
And while this is true, it often times just isn’t enough to protect your bones… and a lack of calcium isn’t the only reason you could develop osteoporosis.
So what else could it be?
Researchers have identified another reason you could be on the fast track to osteoporosis.
Researchers from the University of Chicago Medicine say that men with high body fat tend to have lower bone density –a hallmark warning sign for osteoporosis.
So why is this important?

This Food Could Be Growing Deadly Tumors
This Food Could Be Growing Deadly Tumors
Are we literally FEEDING cancer cells by putting this one food on our dinner plates?
This is important. THIS one food could be growing cancer cells.
And here’s where it gets interesting… as soon as we STOP eating it, the opposite happens: cancer cells STARVE to death — and die out by the thousands.
Skeptical? See the evidence here.
Well, for the longest time, most have thought that people with high body weight have high bone density and are at a lower risk of brittle bones (hence the phrase ‘BIG BONED’).
But this latest study proves that this couldn’t be further from the TRUTH.
In fact, after examining over 10,000 people, the study found that those with a higher fat mass had the propensity of exhibiting lower bone mineral density (especially guys).
In other words, maintaining a healthy weight is one of your best bets at staving off osteoporosis.
Eating a diet rich in protein and vegetables – and staying away from refined sugars – will help you fend off unwanted pounds. And don’t forget to exercise to help burn calories.
Now, when it comes to osteoporosis, it’s important to get screened with your doctor to understand if your bones are beginning to deteriorate.
In the meantime, eat well, stay active, and yes… don’t forget the calcium.
