Junk Food: A NEW Danger Exposed
Unless you’ve been living under a rock for most of your life, you already know that eating too much junk food isn’t good for you.
Sure, it’s convenient – and I’ll even admit it sometimes tastes pretty darn good…
But when not eaten in MODERATION, junk foods (and most fast foods) are nothing but empty calories, excess sugars and carbs, and are full of preservatives…
All of which can put you on the fast track to heart disease, obesity, and type 2 diabetes.
But according to new research, that’s not the only danger to eating excess amounts of junk food!
According to new dietary studies, diets high in saturated fats – which pretty much ALL junk foods have – can significantly increase your risk of developing osteoarthritis.
Osteoarthritis is the most common form of arthritis that attacks your hands, neck, lower back, knees, and even your hip.
But how exactly does junk food accelerate the process of developing osteoarthritis?
High levels of saturated fat – commonly found in food additives like butter, coconut oil, palm oil, and animal fat – can cause the cartilage in your joints to deteriorate faster. This joint deterioration is a hallmark symptom of osteoarthritis.

Studies have found that when you have more saturated fatty acid deposits in your cartilage, it changes your metabolism, weakens your cartilage, which makes your joints more prone to damage. And once that happens, your bones and joints lose that much-needed ‘cushioning.’
If that’s not a good enough reason to lay off the junk, I don’t know what is!
Here’s the bottom line…
I’m not here to preach to you that you shouldn’t touch any junk food. Sometimes life is so busy that we all need to grab something fast and quick – even if it’s not the best thing in the world.
At the end of the day, it’s all about eating these junk foods in moderation.
It’s also good to try shopping in the outer perimeter of your grocery store. This is where you’ll find all of the natural, whole foods like meats, fruits, and vegetables. The inner aisles of your grocery store are loaded with non-natural foods (aka the junk).
But that doesn’t mean you can’t shop there… just look for foods that are cooked in natural, healthy oils like extra virgin olive oil (which is one of the healthiest fats in our diets).
