Is Diet Soda SABOTAGING Your Health? [The Ugly Truth]
You don’t have to be a dietician to know that soda is nothing but sugar in a can. Heck, all you need to do is take quick look at the nutrition label!
But that hasn’t stopped the slick, mainstream ad men from promoting diet soda as a ‘healthy’ and ‘guilt-free’ alternative to sugar-laden soda and cola.
Thanks to years of clever advertising, you’ve probably been DOOPED into believing that these zero-calorie, zero-sugar drinks are actually good for you.
And who could blame you?! Those flashy diet soda ads claim this no sugar alternative is GREAT for your health.
But as I reader of Turapür Today, you know that I’ve been exposing the dangerous myths and lies about diet soda… particularly linking diet sodas to stroke, dementia, and type 2 diabetes.
Well, folks. I’m back today to tell you that research has proven that diet soda (and artificial sweeteners) is TERRIBLE for you once again!
According to a new study published in the journal JAMA Network Open, the artificial sweeteners found in diet sodas actually cause your brain to experience more food cravings than normal sugary beverages – which causes you to consume more calories in the long run…
And more calories means: more unwanted body weight!
The researchers found that study participants experienced increased activity in the brain areas controlling food cravings and appetite after drinking diet soda-sucralose beverages. And this activity was greater than when these individuals drank ‘real’ soda.

This Food Could Be Growing Deadly Tumors
In other words, drinking a diet soda doesn’t turn on your body’s signal that it’s FULL… which can lead to eating excess calories.
And if you’re trying to lose weight, or just trying to maintain a healthy weight, those extra calories can make a BIG difference.
Now, there’s nothing wrong with the occasional soda (even diet soda), but just remember that you should drink any and all soda in moderation.
If you’re a soda lover, be sure to stick to ONE glass a day. You should also be mindful of serving sizes since most sodas are now sold in huge bottles that go way beyond a recommended serving size.
The recommended serving size of soda is eight ounces – even though most sodas are sold in 12- or 20-ounce cans or bottles.
If you’re looking for a healthier (and refreshing) alternative to soda, my go-to ‘fizzy’ drink is sparkling water with a wedge of fresh fruit.
Sparkling water has all the “fizz” of soda, but with none of the sugar or artificial chemicals. And adding a squeeze of fresh lemon or lime gives it the right amount of sweetness.
