As COVID-19 rages on, millions of Americans are still practicing strict social distancing.
That means staying out of the grocery store, avoiding face-to-face visits with family and neighbors, and skipping your outside time to avoid contact with strangers.
And while this might be your new “normal,” becoming TOO isolated from the outside world could also take a serious toll on your health.
Especially if you’re WOMEN!
You see, according to new research out of Canada, there’s a hidden coronavirus risk that’s impacting women over the age of 45.
Fortunately, there are a few easy ways to STOP it.
New research shows that middle-aged and older women who have ‘few’ social ties have an INCREASED chance of developing high blood pressure, a condition that can lead to stroke or heart disease — two of the leading causes of DEATH among women.
At-risk women include those without a partner, widows, and those engaging in less than three social activities a month.
And with COVID-19 cases on the rise, it’s likely that more isolation will continue to happen and will lead to more issues for at-risk women.
In fact, I recently reported that a staggering 49 percent of seniors have increased their isolation than earlier in the year.

I know that the temperatures are getting colder, but simply walking just 10 minutes per day around your neighborhood is a great weapon against feeling isolated or “cooped in.” (Wear a mask if you live on a busy street.)
Or consider meeting up with a friend or neighbor in your yard or a local park where you can catch up with them face-to-face at a safe distance.
And don’t forget to embrace the power of technology when connecting with family… especially during the holiday season. Scheduling weekly (or even twice-weekly) chats via online platforms like Zoom or Google Meet are a great way to interact face-to-face with friends AND loved ones.
