Hero Vitamin SLASHES Diabetes Risk!

Because researchers out of Brazil have just identified a hero vitamin that can BANISH your worst blood sugar woes and SLASH your risk of life-wrecking diabetes!

In a new study, published in the journal Menopause, researchers collected fasting blood samples from 680 Brazilian women (aged 35 to 74) to measure levels of blood sugar and vitamin D.

And they found something very interesting…

The research demonstrated with a 95 percent confidence margin that participants with lower vitamin D blood levels (less than 30 ng/mL) were associated with a blood glucose level over 100 mg/dL…

In other words, lower vitamin D levels are associated with a higher risk of type 2 diabetes!

On the flipside, though, the study suggests that HIGHER levels of vitamin D correlate with a LOWER risk of developing type 2 diabetes…

Which means getting more of this vital nutrient could FEND OFF the disease.

Experts don’t fully understand the reasons behind this effect, but research suggests that vitamin D may improve glycemic control by promoting insulin sensitivity and by improving pancreatic function.

Put simply, vitamin D helps our body better regulate insulin – and other studies are finding similar results.

Scientists at Warwick Medical School have concluded that seniors can reduce their chances of developing diabetes by a whopping 43 percent… just by maintaining healthier levels of vitamin D.

And while that seems pretty easy in theory – after all, our bodies make vitamin D when exposed to sunlight – most people are actually DEFICIENT.

Aside from dairy and fatty fish, not many foods naturally include vitamin D… and as we age, our skin doesn’t use sunlight to make vitamin D as efficiently as when we were young.

Plus, our kidneys are less able to convert vitamin D to its active form.

That’s why it’s important to stay on top of your levels.

Ask your doctor for a vitamin D blood test that can identify if a low level of vitamin D may be affecting your health.

This test is NOT part of routine blood work – so make sure you ask!

If your doctor determines your vitamin D level is low, high-dose vitamin D supplements can get you back on track (follow up with a second blood test to ensure your vitamin D level is up).

Look for vitamin D3 at your local market or online marketplace.

The National Institute of Health recommends a daily dose of 600 International Units (IU) for adults 19 to 70 years old and 800 IU for adults 71 and older.
