EXPOSED: “Healthy Habit” CAUSING Diabetes!

If you’re in relatively good shape and eat fairly well, you probably think you’re in the clear when it comes to diabetes.

After all, you go out of your way to make good choices… avoiding cloyingly sweet treats and sugary sodas, exercising throughout the week, and watching your portion sizes…

Your doc says you might be an ideal patient.

But according to startling research, one of your so-called “healthy habits” – something mainstream docs and dentists TELL YOU TO DO – is silently screwing with your body, potentially TRIGGERING life-wrecking diabetes!

It’s something many folks do multiple times per day, completely UNAWARE that it can elevate blood sugar and block vital bodily functions

And if you’re one of them, you’re at risk!

Let me ask you, friend: How often do you use mouthwash?

In one study, published at the tail end of 2017, American researchers recruited close to 1,000 adult volunteers and asked each one about their oral hygiene – including how often they used aids like mouthwash or floss.

Then, they recorded each person’s glucose tolerance and blood sugar levels (as well as basic demographic info and dental history) before following up three years later…

And by then, the differences between these folks were INCREDIBLY clear!

Compared to people who used it less often, participants who reported using mouthwash at least twice per day (as most makers recommend) were a whopping 55 percent MORE LIKELY to develop diabetes or pre-diabetes!

Now, pre-diabetes is often a precursor to full-blown diabetes… and while it doesn’t mean you’re doomed to type 2, it’s a good indicator that you need to make some changes.

If you’re diligent about improving your diet and getting a little more exercise, you can usually turn things around… avoiding type 2 altogether…

But according to yet another study, published in September of this year, mouthwash could make that harder – by NEGATING the benefits of exercise!

That report, published in Free Radical Biology and Medicine, focused on post-exercise blood pressure… so it’s not an exact match to the diabetes DISASTER I mentioned before…

But in both cases, results suggest that mouthwash (which often contains antibacterial ingredients) interferes with the “good” oral microbes that help regulate nitric oxide (NO), a compound that helps relax blood vessels and improve circulation.

Lower levels of NO have been linked to insulin resistance, a hallmark of diabetes… and less NO may lead to reduced nitrate and nitrite (compounds involved in widening your blood vessels) and higher blood pressure.

BOTH of these issues – diabetes and high blood pressure – can set you up for heart trouble (including deadly heart disease) down the line, so here’s what you do.

Quit messing with mouthwash.

Don’t get me wrong. Good oral hygiene is important (it can even improve heart health and cognition), but you don’t need you to swish any synthetic chemicals do get the job done.

Brushing twice per day and flossing regularly can help keep your pearly whites in tip-top shape just fine…

Plus, cutting out mouthwash can reduce your intake of fluoride, a harsh chemical that’s been linked to thyroid issues, bone damage, cognitive decline, and more!
