Cholesterol-lowering statins may be the greatest medical FRAUD ever.

Mainstream doctors have promised us that statins are safe… propping them up as a ‘magic’ pill that will instantly lower your cholesterol.

Nearly one-third of American adults over the age of 40 are taking a statin RIGHT NOW… and Big Pharma is laughing all the way to the bank.

But here’s what you won’t hear from Big Pharma (or your doctor)…

Countless research studies have linked statins to countless ailments and diseases like excruciating muscle pain, cataracts, and even dementia!

Now a new study has… once again… linked statins to type 2 DIABETES!

The results of the study are so alarming, you’ll want to think long and hard before touching a statin again.

Here’s what they found…

Researchers with The Ohio State University analyzed thousands of detailed health records over a four-year time period to understand the relationship between statin use and diabetes.

None of the participants had diabetes nor were any taking statins at the beginning of the study. They were, however, candidates for statins because of heart disease risk.

The results of study indicate that the longer a statin is prescribed, the higher the risk for developing diabetes. In fact, those that were taking statins for more than two years TRIPLED their risk of developing type-2 diabetes.

If you’re currently taking statins and that news terrifies you, what should you do next?

The first step is to have a serious conversation with your doctor. If your doctor is absolutely brainwashed about statins, and refuses to discuss ways to get you off of them, do yourself a favor and get another opinion.

The next thing you can do is seek natural alternatives to statins… and in most cases it starts with eating delicious foods that help lower cholesterol.

Some foods that positively impact cholesterol levels include:

  • Foods high in soluble fiber and plant phytosterols, such as legumes, avocados, broccoli and other fruits and vegetables
  • Whole grains, including oatmeal, quinoa and barley
  • Omega3-rich foods, such as fatty fish like salmon and tuna, as well as nuts like walnuts and almonds
  • Soy products like soy milk, tofu and edamame
