At the end, the scientists found that women who ate the most vegetables significantly lowered their risk of developing breast cancer. 

In fact, eating just 5.5 servings of fruits and veggies a day could slash your risk by 11%. 

Experts report that fruits and veggies work against breast cancer because they are loaded with antioxidants and fiber. These nutrients help lower inflammation — the root cause of breast cancer. 

And getting a serving in couldn’t be easier. Just eat any of the following every day: 

  • 8 oz. of raw leafy vegetables (like spinach or kale) 
  • 4 oz. of cooked vegetables
  • 3 oz. of chopped or cooked fruits.
