“Diet” Sweeteners Cause Diabetes?!?

For decades, the mainstream has been telling us that sugar-free sweeteners like Splenda and Equal are the secret to dodging Type 2 diabetes.

All you have to do is make the switch to diet soda or use these fake sugars in your coffee and confections and voilà… your blood sugar problems are gone forever.

But as it turns out, this couldn’t be further from the truth.

Because Australian researchers have just found that these two wildly popular sweeteners could be setting you up for Type 2 diabetes… and quickly.

In fact, using Splenda or Equal for just two weeks could lead to MAJOR blood sugar problems.

And really, this shouldn’t be a surprise.

Many studies have linked artificial sweeteners to weight gain, stomach issues, Alzheimer’s and even cancer.

Therefore, it’s not shocking to hear that these chemicals could also interfere with your blood sugar.

In a recent study, researchers from the University of Adelaide split healthy volunteers into three groups. One group took sucralose (the main ingredient in Splenda), another took acesulfame K (found in Equal) and one took a placebo.

At the end of the trial, the researchers made a devastating discovery… both sweeteners ruined the participants’ blood sugar.

The sweeteners did this in three different ways — by raising their sugar absorption, spiking their blood sugar levels and reducing a special stomach enzyme that helps lower blood sugar after meals — all of which are key drivers behind Type 2 diabetes.

And the worst part… This triple threat was in full gear after just two weeks!

Just imagine what months or years of using Splenda or Equal could do to your blood sugar.

The placebo group, however, saw none of these negative effects.

This means avoiding Splenda and Equal (and food products that contain them) could be one of the best ways to avoid Type 2 diabetes, even though they’re advertised as safe for diabetics.

So ditch those diet sodas and sugar-free candies today!

If you can’t fight your sweet tooth, use a natural form of stevia (not Truvia or other chemically enhanced forms).
