In a recent study, researcher from the National Institute of Aging split 292 mice into two groups.
One group was allowed to eat around the clock and the other was given 3 meals a day.
At the end of the trial, the researchers found that the mice who ate three meals a day lived longer and experienced later onset of age-related diseases.
Experts report eating just three meals a day is better for you because the fasting periods between them can help stoke your metabolism and reduce disease-causing inflammation.
This means sticking to your three squares a day could be the secret to beating heart disease, cancer, and even diabetes!
Of course, this doesn’t give you the green light to eat cheeseburgers and ice cream three times a day.
Instead, enjoy three balanced meals that contain lots of fresh produce and lean meats.
