CRUSH High Blood Sugar with This Thanksgiving Staple
Dear Turapür Today Reader,
If you have type 2 diabetes – or even high blood sugar – mainstream medicine says there are only two ways to deal with it.
- Pump your body full of diabetes drugs…
- Or give you a laundry list of foods you CAN’T ever eat again!
And with the Thanksgiving holiday right around the corner, you’ll soon be surrounded by folks indulging in sweet pumpkin pie while you’re choking down bland, sugar-free desserts.
But I’m here to tell you that this Thanksgiving… you DON’T have to give up all of your favorite dishes.
In fact, one of the biggest staples of your Thanksgiving dinner is actually GOOD for your blood sugar… a
And you can finally enjoy it without feeling guilty, or worrying about your blood sugar.
According to new research out of Australia, eating POTATOES (along with other healthy foods), does NOT negatively impact your blood sugar levels!
That’s right… for years, potatoes have been demonized by mainstream medicine as an ‘off-limits’ food for diabetics, partly because they are considered to have a high Glycemic Index (GI)
But it turns out that eating potatoes isn’t going to make your blood sugar go haywire.
The research team looked at 24 adults with type 2 diabetes who either eat a dinner with one of three different versions of skinless white potatoes or basmati rice (widely considered a low GI food).
After continuous monitoring of their blood levels, the team found that the participants who ate potatoes with their meal actually had a better “nocturnal” glycemic response than those who ate rice.
This is important because eating foods with a high GI at night can be risky as that is when blood sugar levels tend to spike.

But the potatoes actually kept participants’ blood sugar levels steady (when combined with other foods).
Now, when it comes to foods like potatoes and blood sugar… it’s all about moderation. But it does mean that you can indulge in some potatoes this Thanksgiving without the guilt.
If you’re looking for a potato dish to try this Thanksgiving, give this blood sugar-friendly recipe for mouthwatering scalloped potatoes a try.
Scalloped potatoes are one of my favorites during Thanksgiving!
Just remember, if you are taking medication for your blood sugar, be sure to speak with your doctor about what you are planning to eat around the Thanksgiving table this year.
