Let’s face it. We ALL get tired during the day. It’s a natural human feeling.
For the most part, a cup of coffee or a quick afternoon nap is all that it takes to recharge your batteries.
But there are some people that aren’t just tired some of the time… they are tired ALL the time!
And there’s no amount of coffee (or naps) in the world that seems to make them feel more energized.
Unfortunately for the hundreds of thousands of Americans that suffer from constant drowsiness or fatigue, this daily lack of energy could lead to some SERIOUS health problems down the road.
It’s called hypersomnolence.
Hypersomnolence is excessive daytime sleepiness, and it can have a serious impact on one’s quality of life.
Constant sufferers of hypersomnolence find it difficult to maintain their jobs, social lives, or perform simple daily chores — even after sleeping soundly throughout the night.
And for the older population the consequences of hypersomnolence could be DEADLY!
Researchers from Stanford University say the disorder may be a sign of increased risk of cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure, and various other health problems.

Also, sit down and think about if there’s unnecessary stress in your life. Stress is all around us and it’s not uncommon to feel stressed for any number of reasons. Stress can take a toll on your physical and mental health, and has been closely linked to tiredness.
And while it’s impossible to completely ‘turn off’ your mind, there are a number of ways you can minimize stress and in turn boost your natural energy levels.
Read a good book… take a nice walk… or even try some deep-breathing or light meditation.
And don’t forget to MOVE. With stay-at-home orders throughout the country because of the coronavirus, it’s sometimes hard to get out and exercise.
But regular exercise is important for reducing your risk of developing chronic diseases like heart disease, diabetes and obesity… not to mention the energy-boosting endorphins you get from exercising.
If you find yourself feeling tired, studies have found even just taking a 10-minute walk is superior “pick me up” compared to having a snack.
So the next time you’re feeling tired, give these techniques a try instead of reaching for the pot of coffee.
