CONQUER Heart Disease with This ‘Boring’ Exercise

Let’s face it. Sometimes exercise is the LAST thing you want to do.

And the mainstream gives you good reason to avoid it. With their ridiculous exercise requirements – you know, those workouts fit for Olympians – it’s easy to give up before you start.

But the truth is you DON’T have to train for a marathon to get the heart health benefits you deserve.

Because there’s a way to get REAL results with little effort.

It doesn’t take a lot of your time and committing to this specific type of exercise a few days per week could add YEARS to your life.

I’m talking about STRETCHING!

This ‘boring’ exercise may not get you sweating. But according to new research, a simple stretching routine could help you CONQUER the world’s number one killer… HEART DISEASE.

According to a new study published in the Journal of Physiology says that just 12 weeks of passive stretching helps improve blood flow… which in turn prevents your arteries from becoming ‘stiff.’

You see, as you age and become less mobile, there’s less blood flow in the major arteries of your body. The less blood flow you have, the greater chance of your arteries become stiff, rigid, and seriously damaging your heart.

This can lead to dangerous health problems like heart disease, diabetes, and stroke.

But science shows that just a little bit of effort could have a HUGE impact on your heart health…

For the research, participants performed leg stretches five times a week for 12 weeks. At the end, the arteries in both the lower leg and upper arm of the participants had increased blood flow and decreased stiffness.

And all they had to do was STRETCH!

No bulky exercise equipment and NO gyms! (Who would want to step foot in a gym during the coronavirus outbreak?!)

Here’s more good news… if you’ve never made stretching a priority (or like most folks, think it’s ‘boring’), it’s never been easier to start a stretching routine from the comfort of your own home.

And trust me, you do NOT have to become a ‘yoga nut’ to get the full health benefits of stretching.

If you’re new to a regular stretching routine, take it slow. Try a few of these leg stretches while watching TV, or try breaking up your daily walk around the block with them. Here’s a basic stretch to get started:

Single-Leg Stretch

  1. Lie on your back and raise your left leg, keeping it straight.
  2. Extend your right leg straight out or bend your knee to place your foot on the floor.
  3. Interlace your hands behind your left thigh or calf, or place a towel or strap around the bottom of your foot.
  4. Pull your left leg toward your body with your hands or the towel or strap while pressing your leg back gently to resist the movement.
  5. Hold this position for up to 1 minute, breathing normally.
  6. Release the leg slowly and repeat the stretch on the opposite side.
