In one gold-standard study, published in 2015, Middle Eastern scientists assigned 78 overweight adults into three treatment groups: One received three cumin capsules per day for eight weeks, while the others received similar doses of a placebo or the mainstream drug orlistat.

That’s a nasty weight loss med doled out to treat obesity – and it’s designed to prevent your body from absorbing fat (thereby lowering your calorie consumption).

Only, it’s famous for CAUSING PROBLEMS!

This drug, which was controversially approved for OTC sale just 10 years ago, has been linked to urgent bowel movements, fatty or oily stools, abdominal pain, and incontinence – and in some folks, these side effects stick around FOR MONTHS.

Cumin, on the other hand, doesn’t wreck your gut.

Instead, the 2015 study found that it actually LOWERS body mass index (BMI) and IMPROVES weight loss… performing similarly to the drug while also improving hallmarks of diabetes…


Plus, people in the study weren’t asked to change their diets… meaning that they LOST WEIGHT (an average of about 2.5 pounds) while eating whatever they wanted!

In two more clinical trials – published in 2014 and 2016 – cumin also helped:

  • Reduce harmful triglycerides,
  • Improve “bad” LDL cholesterol, and
  • Lower virtually EVERY weight loss measure you care about!

That includes BMI, waist circumference, fat mass, and fat percentage…

Scientists think these effects come from cumin increasing fat breakdown and reducing appetite, though research is ongoing – but it never hurts to stock up!
