Gogi berries (also called the wolfberry) are packed with high levels of an antioxidant called zeaxanthin – which is naturally drawn to your eyes.
Studies have found that zeaxanthin is unique to your eye health as it helps build a yellow-colored pigment shield to protect the eye cells from the harmful effects of certain light sources, such as the sun.

And this latest study found that eating goji berries five times a week for 3 months increased the density of this protective pigment of the eyes!
In other words, the more gogi berries you can eat, the stronger your eyes will be in the long-run.
Now, gogi berries are not a substitute for your routine eye appointments. Annual vision exams are your best bet at determining if you have any eye or vision.
But, incorporating gogi berries into your diet is a great way to help strengthen your eyes all year long.
Most specialty grocery stores (or even the organic section of your regular store) carry dried gogi berries for less than $10 per bag.
Dried goji berries have a distinct flavor reminiscent of a cranberry or a sour cherry. If you haven’t had gogi berries before, the easiest way to get started is to use dried goji berries the way you would use raisins.
