Social Distancing: The Hidden Health Risk
Dear Turapür Today Reader,
Millions of Americans are practicing strict social distancing as a proactive measure to avoid contracting the coronavirus.
And for those with underlying health conditions, sometimes staying completely isolated is the safest measure they can take.
That means no trips to the grocery store, avoiding family and neighbors, and even neglecting to get outside to avoid contact with strangers.
And while avoiding these potential coronavirus risks is the new “normal”, becoming TOO isolated from the outside world could be causing excessive INFLAMMATION… which can cause a number of health issues.
According to new research from the University of Surrey and Brunel University London, extreme social isolation could be associated with increased inflammation in the body.
They found that social isolation, the objective state of being isolated from other people, was associated with the presence of C-reactive protein, a protein substance released into the bloodstream within hours of a tissue injury, and increased levels of the glycoprotein fibrinogen, which is converted into fibrin-based blood clots.
This leads to inflammation, which can eventually start damaging healthy cells, tissues and organs and lead to an increased risk of developing non-communicable diseases such as cardiovascular disease.
So how exactly are you supposed to practice responsible social distancing (and even isolation) WITHOUT your body going haywire?
The good news is that there is PLENTY you can do without shutting yourself from the outside world… or compromising your health.

This Food Could Be Growing Deadly Tumors
First and foremost, try to get as much outdoor physical activity that you can.
Exercise can be one of your best weapons against inflammation. You can reduce inflammation levels by simply walking just 10 minutes per day. And if you’re worried about crowds, try taking short walks on side streets near your home. You’ll be amazed at how much better your mind AND body will feel after a short walk.
Do you have an old friend you haven’t talked to in a long time? Consider meeting up with them at a park or open space where you can catch up with them face-to-face at a safe distance.
Or maybe there’s a good neighbor you haven’t been able to see? Bring a lawn chair and try catching up with them from across the street. Even a small interaction with a familiar face will give you a sense of normalcy.
